By bringing together three distinct yet interconnected conferences, the 2023 Forum builds bridges among those striving to promote meaningful access to justice for all persons involved in the justice system, whether they be self-represented litigants unable to afford counsel, those represented by legal aid or pro bono lawyers, or those able to pay reduced or full-cost legal fees. Each individual conference will address topics of concern to local and state programs and bring together national leaders seeking to share information on resources and best practices to better serve the legal needs of their communities. In addition, special joint programming will focus on overlapping concerns. The Forum is the only program of its kind to provide educational training, unique networking opportunities, and support to the access to justice commissions, IOLTA programs, and lawyer referral programs that serve as gateways to the provision of access to justice.”. We’re all familiar with lawyer ethics but did you know it’s also an area attorneys specialize in? This fascinating area of law helps lawyers navigate through thorny situations (usually involving violation of the rules of conduct such as confidentiality, privilege, or conflicts of interest) to help them stay within ethical confines in order to keep their law license in good standing.
The ABA has joined forces with some of New York city's top law firms and local bar associations. A variety of topics were recorded and are available as On-Demand CLE.
