On May 1, 2023, CVS announced that it has completed its $10.6 billion acquisition of Oak Street Health, a Chicago based primary care network which operates centers in over 21 states. Oak Street primarily serves Medicare beneficiaries, and CVS has stated that the acquisition will enhance CVS Health’s multi-payor primary care services, improve outcomes, and reduce costs – particularly in underserved communities. This acquisition is the second for CVS Health in the primary care space this year.
