The Nominating Committee presented its report at the LPM Section’s Spring Meeting in Las Vegas, with nominations for Section officers and Council members. Elections will be held in August at the Annual Meeting.

LPM Section Officers

Chair (Automatic Succession)
Andrea S. Hartley
Andrea Hartley is a shareholder in the Miami office of Akerman Senterfitt, where her practice is focused on the areas of insolvency and reorganization. She has extensive experience in bankruptcy reorganizations, debt restructuring, workouts, business liquidations and creditors’ rights. Her clients include lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, Chapter 11 debtors, acquirers of bankrupt assets, creditors’ committees and bankruptcy trustees. She is currently Chair-Elect of the ABA Law Practice Management Section. She is also Chair of the Nominating Committee and is a past Chair of the ABA Women Rainmakers and the LPM Strategy and Planning Committee. Ms. Hartley is also the Vice Chair of the Claims and Priorities Subcommittee of the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the ABA Business Law Section. In addition, she is Vice President of the Dade County Bar Association, a member of The Florida Bar Business Law Section Bankruptcy/UCC Committee and a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida.

Thomas L. Mighell
Tom Mighell is a records management and e-discovery consultant with Contoural, Inc. He is a frequent speaker and writer on legal technology, e-discovery and the Internet. He has published the Internet Legal Research Weekly Newsletter since 2000 and the legal technology and research blog Inter Alia since 2002. He is co-author, along with Dennis Kennedy, of The Lawyer’s Guide to Collaboration Tools and Technologies: Smart Ways to Work Together, published by the ABA, as well as the book’s companion blog. He is also the co-host of The Kennedy-Mighell Report, a technology podcast hosted by the Legal Talk Network. Currently serving as Vice Chair of the LPM Section, Mr. Mighell served as Chair of ABA TECHSHOW® in 2008.

Joan Rose Marie Bullock
Joan Bullock is a faculty member at the Florida A&M College of Law with over 20 years’ experience in law teaching. Professor Bullock has developed an expertise in law firm management and particularly in the area of the impact of management and performance measures on a firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts. She currently serves as Secretary of the LPM Section and Vice Chair of the LPM Book Publishing Board. An attorney and CPA in the State of Michigan, Professor Bullock is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and serves as a liaison to the ABA Presidential Advisory Council on Diversity in the Profession.

Michael Downey
Michael Downey is a partner in the national legal ethics practice group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, where his practice focuses on representing lawyers, accountants and their firms on legal, ethics, discipline, risk management, and related business and professional issues. He teaches legal ethics and law firm practice as an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law. He is active on numerous state and national bar committees relating to practice management and ethics, including the LPM Section Council and the Missouri Bar’s Special Committee on Lawyer Advertising, and he chaired the Ethics & Technology Committee in the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility. Mr. Downey blogs at www.TheEthicalQuandary.com, has published more than 40 articles, and has spoken more than 150 times on professional ethics and law firm practice.
