Holland & Knight Honored with Pro Bono Service Award

During the Section’s 2006 Annual Meeting, the firm of Holland & Knight received the Section’s second annual Pro Bono Service Award for their generous and steadfast support of the Section, which has contributed immeasurably to the Section's mission of providing leadership to the legal profession in protecting and advancing human rights, civil liberties, and social justice. The firm was recognized for providing countless hours of legal assistance for state death penalty assessments being conducted by the Section-housed ABA Death Penalty Moratorium Implementation Project; assisting in coordinating innovative educational programming on Section issues, such as the Section-sponsored series of panels on immigration reform; providing leadership in organizing a new “ Pro Bono Stars” membership initiative; and for being a longstanding and dedicated sponsor of the Section. In all of these ways, as well as in encouraging its lawyers' involvement in the ABA and the Section, Holland & Knight’s contributions have enriched the Section and enhanced its ability to carry out its work.
