SIL’s Progress on the Policy Front

Yee Wah Chin is of counsel to Ingram Yuzek Gainen Carroll & Bertolotti, LLP, in New York City and the SIL’s officer for Policy/Government Affairs. Keith Loken, SIL’s deputy policy officer, is retired from the Office of the Legal Adviser, U.S. Department of State, where he was most recently the assistant legal adviser for Private International Law. Ted Carroll is a former SIL program associate and Jonathan Lewis is a current SIL program associate. Becky Farrar is legislative coordinator for Amnesty International USA and co-chair of SIL’s International Human Rights Committee.

In this second “Policy Matters” column, we have something for everyone. For members who are following the Section’s policy initiatives, this article includes updates on all of our recent activities, including Resolutions with Reports (R&Rs) and Blanket Authority Comments. For members who are not yet involved in Section policy but are interested and would like more information on how to participate, we are including some advice from a former committee co-chair who proposed her first R&R last year.
