On 5/4/10, the Senate resumed consideration of S 3217, to promote the financial stability of the United States by improving accountability and transparency in the financial system, to end “too big to fail,” to protect the American taxpayer by ending bailouts, and to protect consumers from abusive financial services practices.
On 5/10/10, the president announced the nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagen, of New York, to replace Justice John Paul Stevens as a Supreme Court Justice of the United States.
On 5/10/10, the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on a proposed extension on a currently approved information collection, the Lost People Finder System, a voluntary collection of information that assists in the reunification of family members and loved ones who are separated during a disaster. On 5/10/10, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed project, the Development and Testing of an HIV Prevention Intervention Targeting Black Bisexually-Active Men, which will develop and pilot-test three novel behavioral interventions to reduce sexual risk for HIV infection and transmission among African American men who do not inject drugs.
