On 11/8/07, the Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security Subcommittee, House Judiciary Committee, held a hearing titled “Review of the Prison Litigation Reform Act: A Decade of Reform or an Increase in Prison Abuses?” Margo Schlanger, Professor of Law at the Washington University in St. Louis, testified on behalf of the ABA.
On 11/8/07, the Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security Subcommittee, House Judiciary Committee, held a hearing on HR 1889, to require prisons and other correctional facilities holding federal prisoners under contract with the federal government to make the same information available to the public that federal prisons and correctional facilities are required to do by law.
On 11/7/07, the House Judiciary Committee ordered reported the following bills: HR 1759, Managing Arson through Criminal History Act of 2007; HR 3971, the Death in Custody Reporting Act of 2007; and HR 3992, the Mentally Ill Offender Treatment and Crime Reeducation Reauthorization Act of 2007.
