Weyerhaeuser and the Future of ESA Critical Habitat
    Recorded on October 3, 2018

    Sponsored by:
Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources, and the Section's Endangered Species Committee; Public Land and Resources Committee; and Forest Resources Committee.

    Program Overview:
The Endangered Species, Public Land & Resources, and Forest Resources Committees are jointly hosting a non-CLE webinar on the future of critical habitat designation under the Endangered Species Act. Just two days after the Supreme Court hears oral arguments in Weyerhaeuser v. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (the dusky gopher frog case), our esteemed speakers, counsel in Weyerhaeuser and other critical habitat experts, will provide their perspectives on Weyerhaeuser and the recently proposed changes to the ESA critical habitat regulations. The Supreme Court’s decision in Weyerhaeuser and proposed regulatory changes will have profound implications for developers, permitting agencies, and the environment, and possibly for wider legal issues such as Chevron deference.

    Moderator:
Kim Delfino, California Program Director, Defenders of Wildlife

    Speakers:
Collette Adkins, Senior Attorney, Center for Biological Diversity
Tyson Kade, Of Counsel, Van Ness Feldman, LLP
James Rusk, Partner, Sheppard Mullin, LLP
