Starting late last year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) embarked upon the next step in fulfilling the Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program's (EDSP) goal of obtaining data to assess the endocrine disruptor potential of target chemicals. EPA has issued testing orders for 67 pesticides to hundreds of companies requiring each to generate data, sharing in the cost of generating data, or explaining why such data are not required. How recipients of testing orders respond to EPA, and to the manufacturers of the active ingredient who are now reaching out to pesticide formulators to share in the cost of the data, are responses that are legally and commercially important.
This Quick Teleconference will explore the range of legal, scientific, and regulatory considerations that must be addressed in responding to these testing orders, and the consequences of doing so ineffectively.
