This download explores recent government initiative intended to target companies who fail to comply with OSHA or EPA laws and thereby put their workers at risk. The worker endangerment initiative is designed to pool resources for investigations of companies with poor OSHA and/or EPA compliance records. The first test case of the initiative, United States v. Atlantic States et.al, was sentenced in April of this year having been the longest environmental crimes trial in U.S. history. Agency representatives will explain the OSHA and EPA statutes and regulations which can form the basis of criminal charges and how those charges were applied to obtain convictions in the Atlantic States prosecution. They will explain how the initiative was started, what it has accomplished and where it is headed.
