During this program our panelists will discuss land use issues in wind development projects and recent cases in the United States and Canada addressing challenges to wind energy development.

Kathy Law, attorney with Nyemaster Goode, P.C. in Des Moines, and author of RPTE's recent book, A Practitioner's Guide to Real Estate and Wind Energy Project Development, will discuss zoning and permitting issues and wildlife studies related to wind energy projects.  She will also analyze common land use provisions included in wind farm easements.

Jennifer Ivester Berry, attorney with Phillips Murrah P.C. in Oklahoma City, will discuss issues that arise in the wind development project process as a result of competing land uses, and strategies for addressing such disputes, specifically the competing interests of the oil and gas industry with renewable energy development.

Dianne Saxe, barrister and solicitor of the Saxe Law Office in Toronto, Ontario, will discuss recent case law in Ontario dismissing claims that wind development would adversely impact public health and other hot topics in litigation surrounding wind development in Ontario, including off-site wind development.

This program will analyze these hot topics in real property law related to wind energy development and will be of interest to both Americans and Canadians.
