WASHINGTON, Feb. 12, 2025 – The country’s leading tax attorneys will gather to discuss the latest federal, state and local tax policies at the American Bar Association 2025 Midyear Tax Meeting to be held Feb. 19-21 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live.
The plenary keynote, “Glamorizing Tax Avoidance: How Hollywood Royalty Made Tax Dodging a Socially Acceptable Sport,” will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 5-6 p.m. PST. Professors Steve Bank of UCLA School of Law and Katie Pratt of Loyola Law School will discuss how tax dodging as a popular phenomenon began in Hollywood and prompted a congressional reaction that erected a system of tax preferences that continues to shape tax legislation today.
