CHICAGO, Feb. 21, 2025 — Five legal experts will share their reflections from a recent visit to South Texas, where they observed how immigration law and policy is implemented at the border in a webinar Tuesday, Feb. 25, hosted by the American Bar Association Commission on Immigration and the Civil Rights and Social Justice Section.
The free program, which starts at 4 p.m. EST, will feature experts from the ABA Commission on Immigration and ABA leadership. They will discuss what they witnessed firsthand during their visit to the Rio Grande Valley where they heard from asylum-seekers and toured the border and an immigration detention center. They will also discuss the challenges faced by noncitizens at the border and what the ABA’s ProBAR staff is doing to uphold due process rights for immigrants and asylum-seekers.
ProBAR provides legal services to migrants in immigration proceedings that enhance fairness and efficiency in the immigration court system.
