The American Bar Association proudly joins the nation in commemorating Veterans Day, a time to honor and recognize the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces.
The ABA is committed to serving veterans through our initiatives and programs that provide legal assistance, resources and support to help them navigate the complexities of life after service. Many veterans face unique challenges, including accessing benefits, securing employment and dealing with issues related to housing and mental health. Our efforts focus on ensuring that they receive the legal guidance and resources necessary to thrive through programs such as the ABA Military Pro Bono Project and ABA Free Legal Answers for Veterans.
Through efforts from our members and collaboration with various organizations, law schools and pro bono programs, we create opportunities for lawyers to volunteer their expertise, helping veterans understand their rights and find solutions to their legal challenges. The ABA also engages in public education campaigns to raise awareness about veterans' rights and the importance of supporting their transition to civilian life.
As we reflect on the sacrifices of our veterans this Veterans Day, we reaffirm our dedication to serving them and ensuring their voices are heard. Together, we can honor their legacy by promoting justice, equality and the rule of law.
