ABA Tax Section to host U.S. and Europe tax conference in Munich, April 10-12

WASHINGTON, April 3, 2024 – Leading tax experts representing industry, government and the legal profession will gather to discuss the latest global tax developments at the 24th Annual U.S. and Europe Tax Practice Trends Conference to be held April 10-12 in Munich, Germany.

The conference, sponsored by the ABA Section of Taxation, the International Bar Association Taxes Committee and the USA branch of the International Fiscal Association, is one of the preeminent events for international tax professionals from industry and private practice. The gathering will focus on practical tax practice trends for multinational corporations and their international advisers, as well as provide insight into how government tax officials may view the international tax landscape in light of important international developments that impact corporate taxpayers.

Wolfgang Schön, director of the Department of Business and Tax Law at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance in Munich, will deliver the opening keynote address on April 11 at 9 a.m. He will discuss tax sovereignty in light of global, European and national developments. Keynote luncheon speakers will be Christian Kaeser, Siemens global head of tax in Munich, and Achim Pross, deputy director at OECD Centre for Tax Policy and Administration in Paris, on April 11 at 1 p.m.

Workshops focusing on artificial intelligence as well as wealth management will be held at the offices of Henking Kühn Lüer Wojtek on April 10. Other sessions, held at Hotel Bayerischer Hof, include:
