Statement of ABA President Mary Smith RE: United Nations’ International Day to Combat Islamophobia

CHICAGO, March 15, 2024 — The American Bar Association commemorates March 15 as the United Nations’ International Day to Combat Islamophobia. In honor of this day, the American Bar Association affirms its commitment to encourage and pursue policies that condemn, combat and eliminate Islamophobia in all its forms. The association’s Board of Governors recently approved a Presidential Task Force to work to combat anti-Muslim bias.
