“Civil Legal Aid in America: A Challenge for Equal Justice”
The one-hour webinar coincided with the release of the 2023 ABA Profile of the Legal Profession, an annual compilation of statistics and trends among lawyers, judges and law students. This year's report includes the number of legal aid attorneys within and among the 50 states.
The webinar panel included:
- Lincoln Caplan (moderator) – Yale University lecturer and author of law and public affairs books and articles, including “The Invisible Justice Problem”
- Rebecca Sandefur – Arizona State University professor, director of the Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics and a faculty fellow with the American Bar Foundation
- Radhika Singh – National Legal Aid & Defender Association vice president for civil legal services and strategic policy initiatives
- Jeniece Jones – Executive director of the Public Justice Center, a Maryland statewide civil legal service provider
