Arizona attorney will be honored at ABA ethics meeting in New Orleans

CHICAGO, May 23, 2023 — Gabrielle Morlock, a 2019 graduate of the University of Arizona James E. Rodgers College of Law, will be honored with the 2023 Rosner & Rosner Young Lawyer Professionalism Award at an American Bar Association ethics and professionalism conference in New Orleans next month.

The award recognizes young lawyers who have demonstrated an interest in and commitment to areas such as legal and judicial ethics, lawyer professionalism, client protection and professional regulation. It will be given during the conference at 5 p.m. CDT on Thursday, June 1 at the New Orleans Marriott.

A first-generation lawyer, Morlock of Snell & Wilmer LLP in Tucson, Arizona, is being honored for demonstrating a commitment to ethical and moral obligations both in her professional and volunteer work, including advocating for abused and neglected children in court as part of the program, Court Appointed Special Advocate or CASA.

The 48th ABA National Conference on Professional Responsibility will have an array of programs focusing on timely legal ethics issues, including climate change challenges for lawyers, their mental health and well-being, and potential ethical consequences when a client lies. It will overlap with the 38th ABA National Forum on Client Protection on June 2-3, also at the New Orleans Marriott.

Also, Jayne R. Reardon, a longtime Illinois lawyer who is a national leader in the field of civility and professionalism in the legal community, will receive the 2023 Michael Franck Professional Responsibility Award. She also has served in various leadership positions at the ABA as a volunteer.

A complete conference agenda can be found online and a list of speakers is here.
