Treasury official Lily Batchelder to address ABA Midyear Tax Meeting in San Diego

WASHINGTON, Feb. 1, 2023 – Lily Batchelder, assistant secretary for tax policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, will be the keynote speaker at the American Bar Association 2023 Midyear Tax Meeting to be held Feb. 9-11 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, California.

Batchelder will speak at the section luncheon and plenary session at 12-1:30 p.m. PST Saturday, Feb. 11. Before joining Treasury, Batchelder was a professor of law and public policy at NYU School of Law and an affiliated professor at the NYU Wagner School of Public Service. From 2010-2015, she was deputy director of the White House National Economic Council and deputy assistant to the president, and majority chief tax counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. Her research and teaching have focused on personal income taxes, business tax reform, wealth transfer taxes, retirement savings policy and social insurance.
