ABA Young Lawyers Division seeking nominations for top 40 young lawyers

CHICAGO, Nov. 1, 2022 — The American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division is seeking nominations for its 2023 On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyers awards.

This will be the sixth annual On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyers, which provides national recognition for 40 ABA young lawyer members who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership and legal and community service.

Nominees must be 36 or younger or admitted to practice for 10 years or less as of Sept. 1, 2022; a member of the ABA; and a licensed attorney in the U.S. or one of its territories. Self-nominations are welcome.

Nominations for another person are due Feb. 20, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Self-nominations are due Feb. 27 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Both must be submitted via the online nomination form.

A selection committee composed of attorneys representing various practice settings will review the nominations and make selections based on a range of criteria. The nomination submission will be shared with each nominee.

Those recognized as On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyers and their nominators will be notified and names published in ABA print publications, online and via social media in June 2023.

The Young Lawyers Division is committed to assuring it is best able to represent the newest members of the profession, ensuring that it reflects the society it serves and providing young lawyers and young lawyer organizations with the tools and opportunities for professional and personal success.
