ABA celebrates 2022 Mediation Week with focus on “Winning from the Beginning"

CHICAGO, Oct. 12, 2022  — Mediation is one of several appropriate dispute resolution processes recommended by the American Bar Association, which will recognize 2022 Mediation Week in a virtual event at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19. Sponsored by the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution, the annual event celebrates the growth of mediation as a tool that offers early resolution options, often before litigation.

While early mediations are an effective dispute resolution tool, they are sometimes unsuccessful because the parties and their respective counsel and mediators are not adequately prepared to confidently evaluate or competently propose viable early resolution options. Top practitioners in the field will offer critical strategies to better prepare for and improve the odds for a successful early mediation.
