Annual 2021: House of Delegates supports Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative

Delegates pass Resolution 801, which supports the Department of the Interior’s Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative, an effort to investigate abuses at defunct residential boarding schools that housed Native American children who had been forcibly relocated under the Civilization Fund Act.

Speakers include Canadian Bar Association President Brad Regehr, a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation in Saskatchewan and the first indigenous person to hold that top position.

The House of Delegates’ policy-making session Aug. 9-10 concluded the 2021 ABA Hybrid Meeting, which provided attendees with both at-home and in-person sessions and activities.
