ABA Cybersecurity Legal Task Force releases updated vendor contracting checklist

WASHINGTON, May 11, 2021 — Many cybersecurity breaches are caused by vulnerabilities of third-party vendors. To help avoid and minimize the impact of costly and disruptive data breaches, the American Bar Association Cybersecurity Legal Task Force has released its Vendor Contracting Cybersecurity Checklist  2nd Edition, with an increased emphasis on helping solo and small-firm lawyers.

The checklist is designed for solo and small-firm practitioners who are not steeped in the nuances of data privacy and data security but recognize the necessity to minimize cybersecurity risks in contractual transactions with third-party vendors.

Contact Jennifer Kildee at 202-662-1732 or [email protected] for more information or to receive a copy of the checklist.
