This will be the sixth annual On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyers, which provides national recognition for 40 ABA young lawyer members who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service.
Nominees must be 36 years old or younger, or admitted to practice for five years or less as of Sept. 1, 2020; a member of the ABA; and a licensed attorney in the U.S. or one of its territories. This year, for the first time since the award launched, self-nominations are welcome.

A selection committee composed of attorneys representing various practice settings will review the nominations and make selections based on a range of criteria. The nomination submission will be shared with each nominee.
Those recognized as On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyers and their nominators will be notified and names published in June 2021.
