Midyear Meeting 2020: Delegates adopt policy targeting air carriers’ discrimination against people with disabilities

After lengthy debate, the ABA House of Delegates pass Resolution 106, urging Congress to grant airline passengers private right of action for those who are not granted equal access to commercial air travel.

The new policy, which was adopted Feb 17 during the ABA Midyear Meeting in Austin, Texas, allows for compensatory and punitive damages and other reasonable fees for plaintiffs who prevail in civil discrimination actions.
