Midyear 2019: House of Delegates urge “second chance” expungement process for ex-offenders

The ABA governing body urges federal, state and local governments to reduce the collateral consequences that lead to recidivism by enacting laws that would establish procedures for ex-offenders to have their criminal records sealed, making it easier to secure meaningful employment and lead productive lives after their incarceration. 

Resolution 109B, sponsored by the ABA Criminal Justice Section, was approved at the ABA Midyear Meeting in Las Vegas.
