Highlights: Studying students’ freedom of speech

Tinker at 50: Student Rights at the Schoolhouse Gate and Beyond” looks at changes in the five decades since the Supreme Court recognized that students have freedom of speech and other constitutional rights in public schools.

Panelists looked back on the landmark ruling that said, "Students don't shed their constitutional rights at the school house gates,” Jan. 26 at the ABA Midyear Meeting in Las Vegas. The program was sponsored by the ABA Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice.
