As an associate judge on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, I encounter many lawyers just gaining experience before the court. I like to ask a lot of questions from the bench during non-jury proceedings, especially during motion hearings. I often test a lawyer’s reactions to opposing views, perhaps devilishly advancing arguments I don’t actually believe in. If you are a particularly nervous sort, you may dread a judge like me.
