Civility is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as formal politeness and courtesy in behavior or speech. It is therefore unsurprising that a correlation exists between civility, or the lack thereof, and workplace misconduct. As noted by attorney and workplace culture expert Lauren Stiller Rikleen, workplace misconduct may include many types of negative behaviors, including sexual harassment.
