Syeda F. Davidson

Unless you yourself are disabled or an employer, you probably did not know that October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). The last theme was “Because We Are Equal to the Task.” NDEAM is rooted in 1945, when Congress started National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week. It was not until 1962 that the word “physically” was removed from the title. In 1988, it evolved into what we now know as NDEAM.
