Straight out of law school, Stephanie opened Lucero Law, focusing primarily on holistic criminal defense. Her lawyering philosophy is to work with each client to find not only immediate short-term legal solutions, but also long-term life solutions. Stephanie collaborates with nonprofit social service organizations to help clients obtain assistance for underlying issues that may have contributed to their contact with the criminal justice system. Stephanie also created an externship program within the firm where she supervises law students who provide pro bono services to low-income clients who seek guardianship of their mentally incapacitated adult child. Lucero Law dedicates 30% of its case load to pro bono work.
Stephanie graduated magna cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Stephanie is passionate about volunteerism. She serves on the Arizona Foster Care Review Board and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to two teenagers in the foster care system. In her spare time, she takes Spanish lessons in hopes of becoming fluent in order to provide legal assistance to a larger population. In the future, Stephanie would like to become an adjunct law professor.
