Sara Bell serves as Counsel at PBS, where she focuses on media, entertainment, and technology. In this role, she is responsible for negotiating, structuring, and drafting agreements for television series. Sara also focuses on online content, including development agreements for mobile apps and production agreements for original series on the Webby Award-winning PBS YouTube channel and social media platforms.
As the lead counsel for PBS Education, Sara handles licensing of digital classroom resources such as those from Sesame Street and Fred Rogers. She also provides legal advice and risk analysis to business and engineering teams involving issues such as website operations, marketing, and copyright. Prior to PBS, Sara has clerked at Mintz Levin and interned at NASA and National Geographic.
Sara is an active member of the ABA Forum on Communications Law and has served as Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee since 2017, founding its first newsletter. During her second year of practice, she was selected by the Forum as a “Rising Star” and a Panelist for the “Hot Issues in Entertainment Law” workshops, making her one of the youngest attorneys ever asked to serve in that capacity.
