Nakimuli Davis-Primer, a Shareholder at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, focuses her practice on labor and employment. Nakimuli partners with clients to create respectful and safe workplaces that comply with federal, state, and local law. She develops policies and procedures and trains employees on topics ranging from implicit bias and multigenerational workforces to discrimination and harassment. She currently advises clients on novel workplace issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. She has significant experience defending clients in administrative actions, federal and state litigation, and on appeal.
Before joining Baker, Nakimuli was a law clerk to the Honorable Leslie H. Southwick of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Nakimuli is passionate about improving diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. She serves as Editor of the Diversity Newsletter and Vice Chair of the Diversity Committee at her firm. She is liaison for and past Chair of the Diversity Committee of the Capital Area Bar Association, is a 2016 pathfinder and a 2017 fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, and regularly presents on diversity issues.
