Janea J. Hawkins is an Associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C., where she defends management in federal and state court; administrative claims of harassment; retaliation and discrimination claims on the basis of age, race, sex, and disability; wrongful discharge and breach of contract issues; and covenant not to compete disputes. Additionally, she counsels clients in best employment practices, and facilitates training to HR professionals and executive management on a wide variety of employment topics.
With respect to her service to national and local bar associations, Ms. Hawkins has held various positions of leadership within the American Bar Association (2018-2020 Young Lawyer Leadership Program; JIOP National Mentoring Co-Chair); the Washington Bar Association (Washington Education Foundation Board Member 2017-Present); and the Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association (President 2017-2018).
Ms. Hawkins also maintains an active pro bono practice as a panel pro bono attorney with the D.C. District Court and volunteer special education attorney with the Children’s Law Center.
