Courtney Barksdale Perez
Courtney Barksdale Perez is a partner at Carter Arnett and Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor & Employment Law. Courtney has a vast array of civil litigation experience having tried cases to jury in state and federal court on behalf of individuals, corporations, and governmental entities in all phases of commercial and employment-related litigation. Courtney is dedicated to service to the profession. She has served as Chair of the Texas Young Lawyers Association and on the board of directors for the Dallas Bar Association. She is equally committed to diversity in the profession having served as Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Minority Participation Committee is the President-Elect of the NEW Roundtable, an organization of Black Women in-house and outside counsel in Dallas with a strategic focus on helping each other to achieve their individual and collective professional goals. Courtney's legal acumen and leadership has resulted in numerous awards, including being named a Rising Star each year since 2013, and to D Magazine's Best Lawyers Under 40, and Up-and-Coming 50 Women in Texas and Up-and-Coming 100 by Superlawyers in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
