Michelle serves as Deputy Solicitor General in Virginia’s Office of the Attorney General. She represents the Commonwealth in cases before the United States Supreme Court, Virginia Supreme Court, Fourth Circuit, and other courts addressing high profile constitutional challenges to Virginia laws.
Active on the board of Women Lawyers on Guard, Michelle has advocated for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment and has addressed the merits of legal challenges to the ERA’s ratification. Michelle helped found the Washington Area Women Trial Attorneys, was elected to leadership in the DC Bar Law Practice Management Community, and served on the DC Women's Bar Association’s board. Michelle was previously an associate at Paul, Weiss, where she had an active pro bono caseload.
Michelle has filed briefs before the US Supreme Court, nine federal circuits, and numerous other courts. She holds a BA from Stanford University and a JD from Vanderbilt Law School.
