Jeremy is the executive director and co-founder of Environmental and Animal Defense (“eaDefense”), a Colorado headquartered nonprofit legal services and conservation organization. Jeremy founded eaDefense to increase access to justice for people and animals alike by protecting both domestic and wild animals and habitats.
Jeremy practices civil and criminal cases in both federal and state courts on a wide variety of legal issues for clients that include the homeless, indigent, middle-class and other nonprofit organizations. In addition, Jeremy represents eaDefense and its members in an organizational capacity to ensure state and federal government accountability, responsiveness, and transparency.
Jeremy writes, travels, and speaks on animal legal issues to build awareness and advocate for increased legal standing and rights of domestic and wild animals. Jeremy is also a co-author of a chapter in an upcoming legal textbook discussing the need and importance of an environmental justice corollary for animal law.
