Lieutenant David “Ben” Maddox is a member of the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and currently assigned to the staff of Commandant, Naval District Washington as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate in Washington, DC. There, he advises the Regional Commander on military justice, personnel law, investigations, and administrative law.
Previously, he served as counsel in Yokosuka, Japan and San Diego, California. Prior to the legal profession, he started a consulting firm, co-founded an education political action committee, and taught algebra and coached football with the Teach for America program along the Texas-Mexico border. He was selected as a 2019 Presidential Leadership Scholar and is currently obtaining a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
LT Maddox holds degrees from the University of Texas School of Law, The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University, and Baylor University.
