Richard Kelley is an associate at DLA Piper LLP (US), focusing his practice on internal compliance and investigations and other general litigation. Prior to DLA, Richard was a senior attorney at the DC Affordable Law Firm, an organization focused on expanding access to affordable legal representation. While at DCALF, Richard represented individuals in family law and immigration matters, including representing numerous survivors of domestic violence. Richard maintains a strong commitment to pro bono efforts.
He volunteers as the Legal Program Coordinator for Center Global, a program of the DC Center focused on creating a supportive space for LGBTQ asylum seekers, and serves as a Guardian ad litem for vulnerable children in D.C. family court, among other endeavors. Prior to entering the legal profession, Richard was an teacher and educator and helped to found a non-profit organization focused on empowering secondary school youth through educational programming in Mamelodi, South Africa.
