Brittanny Perrigue is a Disaster Assistance Staff Attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. and an Equal Justice Works Disaster Recovery Legal Corps Fellow. Prior to working for TRLA, Brittanny was an Attorney at the U.S. Small Business Administration.
While working at the SBA she assisted disaster survivors from Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and California in their recovery from natural disasters. As an EJW DRLC Fellow and Staff Attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid she provides legal services to residents of counties in south and west Texas who are directly impacted by disasters. Brittanny primarily works on direct service cases, specifically FEMA, SBA, and Texas Health and Human Services Other Needs Assistance cases. She also organizes and participates in community education and outreach projects as well as pursues large scale impact litigation seeking systemic improvement in the administration of assistance to disaster survivors.
In addition, Brittanny is a member of the American Bar Association’s Disaster Legal Services Team. She helps coordinate the legal response to federally declared disasters.
Brittanny is a graduate from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.
