About the Program

In today’s globalized economy, this area of immigration law is becoming increasingly relevant as people move across the globe for attractive career opportunities. Changes in immigration law also directly affect global transactional business practice in its decision to relocate employees abroad.

This panel will discuss the immigration challenges faced by lawful permanent residents living and working abroad along with the obvious pitfalls leading to abandonment of permanent residence. The panel will also discuss steps a business can take to help its employees as well as highlight issues and strategies to ensure continued maintenance and preservation of the lawful permanent resident status, with the ultimate objective of planning for citizenship.
