    Conference Funding for Affiliate Leaders

    National Conference

    (up to $200 per person)

    The YLD presents national conferences each year. There are a limited number of scholarships available for active affiliate leaders who attend ABA YLD National Conferences. These are available on a first come first serve basis.

    Eligibility:  Three representatives (four if one is a minority, government/military, or small-solo firm attorney) from each YLD affiliate are eligible for up to two days per diem at $100 per day for their attendance at each of these conferences.

    Process

    1. Please email [email protected]  requesting an Affiliate scholarship 8 weeks prior to the conference.  You will be placed on a request list. This list will close 2 weeks prior to the start of the conference.
    2. The ABA YLD staff will notify you whether you have been approved for funding and will include further instructions.
    3. You must complete your reimbursement form within 30 days of the last day of the conference to receive your funding.

    New/Inactive Affiliate National Conference Scholarships

    A limited number of scholarships are available to conference attendees who are representing new Affiliates or Affiliates that have not sent representatives to a national conference for three or more years. These reimbursements include the lowest discounted round-trip airfares (up to $350), up to $20 ground transportation, and up to two days per diem at $100 per day.

    Process

    1. Interested Affiliates must request consideration for this reimbursement at least 30 days prior to the fall and spring national conferences.
    2. Please email [email protected]
    3. You will be notified by ABA Staff whether you have been approved for funding.
    4. For those approved for funding, you will complete the Standard YLD Reimbursement Form, on the Business Purpose for Expenditure line state in parenthesis – New/Inactive Affiliate Conference Scholarship.
    5. You must complete your reimbursement form within 30 days of the last day of the conference to receive your funding.

    NOTE: All individuals must adhere to attendance requirements identified in the Division’s Budget and Reimbursement Policy.

    Limitations: All affiliate conference funding awards are limited to one conference per bar year and are not permitted to supplement other Division funding.
