Conor Desmond

Conor Desmond is a trial attorney with the US Department of Justice Tax Division. He prosecutes and defends cases on behalf of the United States, including suits to collect taxes, refund suits, and penalty enforcement actions in both District and Bankruptcy Courts. Mr. Desmond was awarded the Tax Division’s Outstanding Attorney Award in 2022 and 2023 and the Assistant Attorney General’s Award for Training in 2023. He regularly presents on e-Discovery, AI, and team management. In addition to his practice, he also focuses on mentoring new attorneys, and coaching litigators at the National Advocacy Center. Prior to working at the Department, he worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois and in private practice.
