Summary
- The project was an opportunity to give back to the beautiful island community of Kauai.
- The volunteer opportunity also fostered teamwork and environmental responsibility among the committee members.
Each conference, the Lawyers in Public Service Committee (LIPS) puts together a public service project. For the Fall 2024 Meeting in beautiful Kauai, LIPS got to give some love back to the island by cleaning up the beaches and surrounding areas! The public service project was aimed to support environmental conservation and raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste to protect our oceans and beaches.
A dedicated group of volunteers gathered to remove debris and litter from the coastline, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for both wildlife and local residents. The effort was not only an opportunity to give back to the beautiful island community but also to foster teamwork and environmental responsibility among the committee members. The project was a great success—even the Kauai government featured the project in its newsletter! LIPS hopes to continue making a positive impact in future events and encourages others to get involved in similar efforts to preserve the natural beauty of our planet.
Stay tuned for more updates on future public service projects and how you can get involved!
