Judge Peter Reyes was appointed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals in 2014 and, before ascending to the bench, Judge Reyes was in private practice both in-house and as a partner at a firm. He is a past president of the Hispanic National Bar Association and Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association. Within the ABA, Judge Reyes is a member of the House of Delegates and he is active in TIPS, the Judicial Division, Business Law Section, the Section of Intellectual Property, the Minority Caucus, and he currently serves as a Commissioner of the Commission on Women in the Profession. In January 2019, Judge Reyes received the ABA’s Spirit of Excellence Award for his commitment to diversity. In his acceptance speech, he said: “I have found my calling as a judge, as a public servant, serving the citizens of Minnesota and of this great country. I learned to carve my own path and in pursuing my path, I found freedom, the freedom to dream big and take chances.”
Victoria Alvarez is a business litigation associate in the Charlotte office of Troutman Sanders, LLP. Victoria represents businesses big and small -- from multinational corporations to local partnerships. She is an experienced litigator with a background in complex matters ranging from breach of contract and fraud to premises, retail, and products liability. She is a proud graduate of the TIPS Leadership Academy, Class of 2018 – 2019, member of the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army of Charlotte, and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our ABA community.
