It is hard to believe that my year as TIPS Chair has concluded. While it has been a great honor serving you as Chair, it has equally been a privilege to serve this organization we love as a general committee, task force, and special standing committee chair, Council member, and officer over the years. Reflecting on the 2022–2023 bar year, I am proud of our accomplishments and continuing to move the organization in a positive post-pandemic direction, including having the first full year of live conferences without any interruptions or cancellations!
Most importantly, we appreciate your continued membership in the Section. You are what makes TIPS unique—the amazing people! A special thank you to those of you who have taken a more active role in TIPS and served as a committee chair, chair-elect, or vice-chair of one of our over 30 general committees, standing committees, and task forces—we could not do the good work of the Section without you. Thank you also to all of those who have served in so many other capacities, including the many conference planning committees, and to the officers, Council, and staff team who continue with their dedication and support. I appreciate everyone’s devotion to TIPS and our continued success. Please keep it up, energize others, be creative, pivot and adapt, and continue to grow with the Section. We can do incredible things for the community and profession.
Finally, thank you to our Section sponsors, allowing us to achieve our Section goals. Our sincere gratitude goes out to Thomson Reuters, MDD Forensic Accountants, the American Arbitration Association, and associate sponsors Magna Legal Services and AM Best. We could not continue to bring the valuable benefits you receive without their continued support.
TIPS has many exciting activities and locations on the horizon, starting with the Fall Meeting in the Bahamas October 12–14, 2023, and a new Leadership Academy class! Please consider sponsoring one of our TIPS events or programs and challenge yourself this year to take on a more active role in our Law in Public Service Committee, the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, or any of our DE&I, public service, or community outreach endeavors.
Enjoy your summer, and I look forward to seeing you at one of our many live conferences in the future.
