Summer 2021 Update on the Latest Programs and Events in Your Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section

TIPS/JD Section Conference

TIPS partnered with the Judicial Division for our first virtual Section Conference, held April 28–30, 2021. The top-tier CLE webinars included the very engaging “Trial Masters: Lessons Learned,” with war stories from seasoned litigators. Other winning programs included “The Ethics of Practicing Law Remotely,” “Modern Written Advocacy in the Digital Age,” and “Has the COVID Pandemic Changed the Courtroom Forever?” TIPS standing committees, task forces, general committees, and Council also conducted business meetings to continue the work of the Section.

The Pursuit of Justice and Excellence in the Advancement of Animal Law Awards

These awards were presented at the Section Conference virtually on Wednesday, April 28. The very deserving award recipients included Randall L. Kinnard, who received the Pursuit of Justice Award, and Daina Bray, who received the Excellence in the Advancement of Animal Law Award. The audience was inspired by the moving words of the recipients. The Pursuit of Justice Award recognizes an attorney who has shown outstanding merit and excelled in ensuring access to justice, while the Excellence in the Advancement of Animal Law Award recognizes exceptional work by an Animal Law Committee member who, through commitment and leadership, has advanced the humane treatment of animals through the law.
