Pro Bono Opportunity: Join Us In Building Resilience In Animal Shelters During the Pandemic

Animal Law Committee

Animal Law Committee

A pro bono project of the ABA TIPS Animal Law Committee in partnership with the ABA Disaster Relief Program and the ABA TIPS Law In Public Service Committee

Purpose:

To promote strong communities for people and animals during the pandemic, provide legal support to animal shelters who currently do not have foster programs to establish them, and to strengthen existing foster programs.

Foster programs (i.e., temporary housing of animals in the homes of volunteers) can help support shelters, their staff and the animals they serve.

Fostering an animal during these times of uncertainty and social distancing can also provide emotional support and a positive activity for the foster carer.

Sign Up:

●      If you are a lawyer interested in volunteering your time, sign up here!

●      If you are a shelter interested in pro bono (free) legal support to establish or strengthen a foster program, sign up here!

Resources*:

●      Template foster application and agreement

●      State Foster Home Laws and Regulations

This project would not have been possible without the generous pro bono support of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Please join us in thanking the Gibson Dunn team for their support of this project!
