I am delighted to welcome you to the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section! TIPS is a unique, diverse organization that links plaintiff and defense attorneys with corporate, in-house counsel and insurers, all eager to maintain and improve the American civil justice system.
TIPS is made up of over 30 general committees, each focused on a substantive practice area and each at the forefront of industry specific issues. Our newest committees, including Cannabis Law and Policy, Women Trial Lawyers, and Cybersecurity and Data Privacy, are superb ways for members to get involved with TIPS. TIPS also publishes a number of excellent books and periodicals, all devoted to sharing up-to-date information from industry leaders. I invite you to explore all the Section has to offer and the many ways to get involved.
While we look forward to meeting you in person, unfortunately the circumstances of COVID-19 don’t currently permit large in person events. That does not mean that we are not planning a full calendar of committee virtual programs and a Fall Leadership meeting. We remain optimistic that we will all be together for TIPS annual Section Conference which is our most exciting event and this year will be no different. From April 28 to May 1, 2021, TIPS will be partnering with the ABA's Judicial Division to bring programming specifically designed for younger lawyers and more experienced lawyers to interact with the judiciary in Washington, DC. From cutting-edge CLEs to unique social events, mark your calendars for what is sure to be a wonderful conference.
If you are not currently a TIPS member, I urge you to join. For online access, click here or email or call our Membership Associate, Jeane Emily DuBose at (312) 988-5673 with any questions. If you're eager to get involved in this wonderful Section, please feel free to reach out. There is a home for you in TIPS.
