Request for TIPS Officer & Council Nominations

Pursuant to TIPS Bylaws, Art. III.1, during the 2025 ABA Midyear Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, the TIPS Council will nominate candidates for the Officer, Council and Delegate positions which are scheduled to be filled by the Section.

As required by Bylaw Art.III.4, an election to fill these positions will take place at the Section Business Meeting during the ABA Annual Meeting, in Toronto, Canada in August of 2025. The positions to be filled this year are:

1.  One Section Vice-Chair - to serve a one-year term which will begin at the end of the 2025 ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto.
2.  One Section Secretary - to serve a one-year term which will begin at the end of the 2025 ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto.
3.  One Section Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates - to serve a three-year term which will begin at the end of the 2025 ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto. Delegates "must have served a minimum of two years as a General Member of Council." (Art.III.2); and
4.  Five General Council Members - to serve three-year terms which will begin at the end of the 2025 ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto.

Anyone interested in being considered for nomination to one of these positions and anyone wishing to nominate someone else, should submit by e-mail a completed application, along with a current resume or CV of the nominee, (PDFs preferred) to TIPS Director, Theresa Livingston at [email protected].  Please make all submissions no later than Wednesday, January 22, 2025; nominations will be distributed to TIPS Council in advance of the Midyear Meeting.
